Prof. Andrzej Nowicki - rozpoczął działalność naukowo w 1969 r. w Instytucie Podstawowych Problemów Techniki poczynając od stanowiska asystenta do profesora w 1992 r..

Większość‡ prac znalazła bezpośrednie zastosowanie w diagnostyce klinicznej i została wdrożona do produkcji w kraju - aktualnie produkowanych jest kilka urządzeń współautorstwa prof..Nowickiego, m.in. przepływomierze do naczyń krwionośnych obwodowych i wewnątrz-czaszkowych i ultrasonografy kilku typów.

Opublikował sześć monografii, m.in., „Ultradźwięki w medycynie- wprowadzenie do współczesnej ultrasonografii”, "Echografia dopplerowska" , "Podstawy ultrasonografii dopplerowskiej" , „Diagnostyka ultradźwiękowa” i „Wstęp do Ultrasonografii –Podstawy fizyczne i instrumentacja”. Jest autorem lub współautorem 13 patentów.

Od 1998 r. jest Adjunct Professor w School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health - Drexel University, Filadelfia.
